oh boy, cross training day

Well, I made it to Wednesday. Instead of doing weights, I decided to give the elliptical machine a try. So I headed to the gym after work and finished a 25 min workout, while watching George Lopez (love that show). I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sore tomorrow. It's amazing how easy it is for me to find the time to go and train. I think it's the group atmosphere, and being accountable to other people. Whatever it is, it's working!

Day 2- on my way

It was so cold by the time I got home. brrr. I can't imagine running outside in a place like Chicago when it's cold like this.
I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 35 min. turns out I was was in better shape than I thought. I was able to do it, have a conversation with the owner and still feel great afterwards.
Tomorrow is cross training. I'm going to try and go at 5 AM but we'll see if the twins cooperate.

I'm excited to know Mark and Robin are also parents of twins. It's hard to explain to someone what it's like to parent multiples, you have to be there to know what it's like. So they'll know when I need a little extra encouragement after multiple night feedings.

What did I get myself into this time?

I've been thinking about doing a marathon for the last couple of years. Last year's kickoff found me pregnant (with twins). So when this year's kick off got closer, I had no reason not to join. Taking care of my family and working full time keeps me busy, and I have not been taking time for myself since the twins were born. So training this marathon will allow me to have "me" time without feeling guilty (moms will understand what I mean).
I went out for a walk yesterday afternoon, after getting back from work. It was cold, but it was actually nice. I walked around the neighborhood, and the streets were really quiet. I could actually hear myself think! I have a gym membership but walking on the treadmill doesn't really appeal to me, although I'm sure once it starts to get hot, it will.
